Diastasis Recti & Hernia Support
Abdominal Physiotherapy & Diastasis Recti Physio in Bristol
Specialist abdominal physiotherapy for diastasis recti, postnatal recovery, C-section recovery and returning to exercise.
Your abdominal wall is involved in far more than having a strong “core”. It helps you breathe, move, lift, manage pressure and transfer force through your body.
Pregnancy, childbirth, changes in your abdominal wall and periods of reduced activity can all affect how these muscles work.
At Alma Physiotherapy in Bristol, we assess how your abdominal wall is functioning as a whole, rather than simply measuring the distance between your muscles or giving you a list of core exercises.
Our specialist physiotherapists can help you understand what is happening, what you can safely do and how to progressively rebuild strength and confidence.
We can advise on a range of conditions, including diastasis recti, hernias, c-section support and postnatal core reconnection and strengthening.

Separation of your abdominal muscles happens in every pregnancy to allow baby to grow. Physiotherapy can assist via an accurate assessment, then loading and tension via your breath and deep core muscles to improve the function of your tummy.
